A Turkish ordinary passport holder needs a visa to visit Israel. Turkey is NOT on Israel's visa-exempt / ETA-IL list, so there is no eVisa, visa-on-arrival, or visa-free channel. The tourist visa is issued free of charge at an Israeli diplomatic mission, but as of mid-2026 Israel's Embassy in Ankara and Consulate General in Istanbul have had no resident Israeli diplomats since October 2023 and the Istanbul consulate is "closed to the public until further notice," making the visa very difficult to obtain in practice. Turkish citizens require a consular (sticker) visa to enter Israel for tourism. Israel introduced the ETA-IL electronic travel authorization on 1 January 2025, but it applies only to roughly 96 visa-exempt nationalities (US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, etc.) — Turkey is not among them. Israel's own visa policy states that Turkish nationals "need a visa but may apply for a touristic visa free of charge at Israeli diplomatic missions." That means the visa itself carries no Israeli government fee, allows a short tourist stay (typically up to 90 days), and must be obtained in advance by appointment — there is no airport visa-on-arrival and no online eVisa for Turkish passports. The major practical caveat: following the deterioration of Israel-Turkey relations after October 2023, Israeli diplomats were withdrawn from Turkey (now based in Bulgaria) and the Istanbul Consulate General is closed to the public until further notice. Travelers should treat in-Turkey processing as effectively unavailable and contact the mission's emergency channels, or apply at an Israeli mission in a third country, before making any plans. Given conflicting practical access and no confirmed no-visa channel, the conservative verdict is visa-required.
