Thai ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Lesotho for tourism. Thailand is not on Lesotho's visa-exempt list. Lesotho's online eVisa portal has been suspended since April 2024, so applications must currently be made by email to the Immigration Department or through a Lesotho diplomatic mission before travel. As of 1 June 2026, a Thailand ordinary passport holder requires a visa to visit Lesotho for tourism or a short stay. Thailand does not appear in any of Lesotho's visa-exemption categories (90, 60 or 14 days), so there is no visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel for Thai nationals. Lesotho operates an electronic visa (eVisa) system in principle, but the official eVisa application portal was suspended (reported April 2024) and the Ministry of Home Affairs directs applicants to submit completed forms and supporting documents by email to the Immigration Department (visa-applications.immigration@gov.ls) at least five business days before arrival, or to apply through a Lesotho embassy/high commission. A single-entry visa typically permits a stay of up to 44 days; multiple-entry visas allow travel in and out within a 180-day window. Because the standard online channel is suspended and Thai nationals have no visa-free access, the conservative and accurate verdict is visa-required: secure the visa in advance, enter via Maseru Bridge or Moshoeshoe I International Airport, and carry printed confirmation. Note that many travelers reach Lesotho via South Africa, so a South African transit/entry stamp may also be relevant to the journey.
