Thai ordinary passport holders need an eVisa to visit Djibouti for tourism. As of 2026, Thailand (ordinary passport) is NOT on Djibouti's visa-exempt list, so a visa is required for a short tourist stay. Both are single-entry and issued for tourism or commerce. The eVisa must be obtained before travel - while Timatic historically referenced a visa on arrival, the Djiboutian government officially limits visa-on-arrival to diplomatic, official, and service passport holders, so ordinary passport travelers should not rely on it. Apply at least 7-10 business days in advance; the e-visa is delivered by email and presented (printed or digital) on arrival at Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport. Note that third-party agency sites charge inflated fees (USD 80+); the official portal charges only the government fee.
