Thai passport holders need a Cuba e-Visa before travel. Since 30 June 2025 Cuba abolished the paper Tourist Card and now requires an electronic visa (e-Visa) for virtually all foreign visitors, including Thai nationals. Apply online at the official Cuban platform, then carry the QR-coded e-Visa plus the D'Viajeros entry form and mandatory travel insurance. A Thailand ordinary passport holder traveling to Cuba for tourism must obtain a Cuba e-Visa (visa electronica) before departure. Cuba phased out the long-standing paper Tourist Card (tarjeta del turista) and, as of 30 June 2025, transitioned fully to an electronic visa system administered through the official Cuban portal evisacuba.cu. The e-Visa is universal: it applies to essentially all foreign travelers regardless of nationality (only Cuban citizens and Cuban residents are exempt), so Thai nationals are not visa-exempt and cannot rely on visa-on-arrival. The e-Visa is single-entry, permits a stay of up to 90 days, and can be extended once for a further 90 days at a Cuban immigration office (prorroga). It remains usable for travel for up to 12 months from issuance. The government fee depends on the country where the e-Visa is obtained rather than on the passport nationality, typically in the range of roughly USD 24-60 (for example about EUR 22 in parts of Europe, USD 50 from the United States). Separately and in addition to the e-Visa, every traveler must complete the free online D'Viajeros entry/customs form (at dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu) within 7 days before arrival, and must hold travel medical insurance valid in Cuba, which is a legal entry requirement and is checked on arrival. The passport must be valid for at least six months. Direct embassy/consular processing typically takes around 72 hours, while authorized providers can be faster. Cuba is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
