Thai ordinary passport holders need an e-visa (ASAN Visa) to visit Azerbaijan for tourism. There is no visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel; apply online before travel via the official portal evisa.gov.az. Azerbaijan does not grant Thailand ordinary passport holders visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival. Thailand is, however, on Azerbaijan's list of countries eligible for the ASAN Visa (electronic visa) system, so the correct and only practical route for a short tourist visit is to obtain an e-visa online before departure. The application is made through the official government portal (evisa.gov.az). The standard e-visa costs USD 25 (a USD 20 state fee plus a USD 5 service fee) and is issued within 3 working days; an urgent option costs USD 60 and is processed within 3 hours. The e-visa is a single-entry permit valid for entry within 90 days of issue and allowing a stay of up to 30 days from the date of arrival. The passport must remain valid for at least 3 months beyond the visa's expiry. Azerbaijan is not part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers should apply only through the official evisa.gov.az portal to avoid third-party markups; the e-visa must be printed (or presented digitally) at the border alongside the passport.
