Singapore passport holders need an e-Visa to visit Mauritania for tourism. Mauritania launched a mandatory e-Visa system on 5 January 2025; Singapore is not visa-exempt, and embassies/consulates no longer issue visas. Apply online via the official ANRPTS portal before travel. The standard 30-day tourist visa fee (around EUR 55 / USD 60) is paid in cash on arrival. As of mid-2026, Mauritania is not visa-free for Singapore ordinary passport holders. Since 5 January 2025, Mauritania operates a mandatory electronic visa (e-Visa) system run by the National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles (ANRPTS) at anrpts.gov.mr. The previous visa-on-arrival channel has been replaced for visa-required nationals (including Singaporeans), and Mauritanian embassies now redirect applicants to the online portal. Travelers complete the e-Visa application online, upload a passport scan and photo, and select a 30-, 90-, or 360-day duration. Approval is typically issued within a few business days; the e-Visa authorization is then presented at the border or airport, where the visa fee (approximately EUR 55 or USD 60 for the 30-day single-entry tourist visa) is paid in exact cash in euros or US dollars. Mauritania is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Passports must be valid at least six months with blank pages. Travelers should rely only on the official ANRPTS portal, as some third-party airport/agency pages still describe the discontinued visa-on-arrival process.
