Singapore ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for short tourist stays in Luxembourg. Luxembourg is in the Schengen Area, and Singapore is on the EU visa-exempt list, so you may enter for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. As of 1 June 2026 no pre-travel authorisation is required, but you must clear the new Entry/Exit System (EES) biometric checks at the border, and ETIAS authorisation (EUR 20) is expected to become required from late 2026. Luxembourg is a full member of the Schengen Area, and Singapore is one of the EU's visa-exempt third countries. A Singapore ordinary passport holder can therefore travel to Luxembourg for tourism, business, family visits or short study without any visa, for stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. The passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date and issued within the previous 10 years. Two systems affect this route in 2026. The Entry/Exit System (EES) went fully operational across Schengen on 10 April 2026; it replaces manual passport stamps with biometric registration (facial image and fingerprints) collected at the external border on first entry, with no fee and no pre-application. ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) is a separate pre-travel authorisation, not a visa, that will become required for visa-exempt nationals including Singaporeans. As of 1 June 2026 ETIAS is NOT yet live; the European Union expects it in the last quarter of 2026, followed by a six-month transitional period and then a grace period before it is strictly enforced. Once active, ETIAS will cost EUR 20 (free for applicants under 18 or over 70) and be valid for up to three years or until the passport expires. The verdict for a short tourist stay today is therefore visa-free; travellers should monitor the official ETIAS launch announcement and budget for it from late 2026.
