Singapore ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Chile. They are admitted visa-free under Chile's Permanencia Transitoria (transitory stay) permit, granted on arrival, for short tourist visits. A Singapore (ORDINARY) passport holder travelling to Chile for tourism or a short visit does not require a visa. Chile admits Singapore nationals visa-free under the "Permanencia Transitoria" (transitory stay) permit, which is issued at the port of entry at no charge. The permit for tourism, recreation, sport, health or similar non-remunerated purposes is valid for up to 90 days, and can be extended once for up to a further 90 days for a fee paid in-country. Note that some travel aggregators and the Singapore MFA travel advisory cite a 30-day exemption for Singaporeans; the actual period stamped is at the immigration officer's discretion, so travellers should check the stamp/electronic record (PDI form) on arrival. There is no reciprocity/entry fee for Singapore citizens (Chile abolished the general reciprocity fee for travellers in 2014, and Singapore was never subject to it). Chile is NOT in the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. To enter, travellers need a passport valid for the duration of stay (six months' validity is strongly recommended and required by many airlines), proof of onward/return travel, evidence of accommodation, and proof of sufficient funds. As of 2026-05-30 there is no eVisa, ETA or visa-on-arrival requirement for tourism for Singapore nationals; entry is straightforward visa-free admission.
