Singapore ordinary passport holders need a visa for Bangladesh, but tourists can obtain a 30-day single-entry Visa on Arrival (VoA) for about US$51 at major airports (Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet), provided they show a confirmed return ticket, hotel booking and proof of funds. Applying through the Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore before travel is the safer option. Bangladesh requires a visa from Singapore citizens; it is not visa-free and Bangladesh is not in the Schengen area. Singapore is on the list of nationalities eligible for Bangladesh's Visa on Arrival, issued at designated ports of entry (Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Dhaka and other international airports). For tourism the VoA grants a single entry and a maximum stay of 30 days for a fee of US$51 (cash in USD/GBP/EUR or Visa/Mastercard), subject to showing an onward/return ticket, confirmed accommodation and at least US$500 in funds. VoA issuance is discretionary at the border, so the more reliable route is a pre-arrival visa: complete the online Machine Readable Visa (MRV) form at visa.gov.bd, print it and submit it with supporting documents to the Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore for a sticker visa. Note the government temporarily suspended VoA for several nationalities from 15 January to 15 February 2026 around the parliamentary elections; that window has now passed, but travellers should reconfirm VoA status with the Bangladesh High Commission before any future election-period travel.
