Russian ordinary passport holders can get a Nepal tourist visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and at land border entry points. Fees are USD 30 (15 days), USD 50 (30 days), or USD 125 (90 days), payable in cash. No prior visa from an embassy is required. Nepal grants visa on arrival to citizens of most countries, including Russia. Russia is not on Nepal's list of nationalities barred from VOA (which covers a small set of African and Middle Eastern states plus refugees on travel documents). A Russian ordinary passport holder traveling for tourism simply arrives at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu), or an eligible land border, completes the arrival form (online in advance or at an airport kiosk), pays the fee in cash, and receives a multiple-entry tourist sticker visa. Three durations are available: 15 days (USD 30), 30 days (USD 50), and 90 days (USD 125). The visa is valid for stays within a single Nepali visa year (January to December), and tourist stays are capped at 150 days per visa year. Online pre-application via the Department of Immigration portal speeds the airport process but is not mandatory. Russian diplomatic and official passport holders are visa-exempt for up to 90 days, but this does NOT apply to ordinary passports, which still need the VOA. Nepal is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS are not relevant here.
