They may enter for tourism and stay up to 90 days, extendable once at a local immigration office, with the stay capped at 90 days in any 180-day window. Cuba is in the Caribbean and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 short-stay rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route. Despite being visa-free, two practical entry conditions apply to all travelers: (1) the mandatory D'Viajeros electronic traveler declaration (immigration plus customs and health), which must be submitted within 7 days before arrival and produces a QR code required at airline check-in and on arrival, and (2) compulsory travel medical insurance covering treatment in Cuba (Resolution 168/2010), which border officials may check. A return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and a passport valid for the duration of stay (commonly recommended six months) are also expected. Default verdict is firmly visa-free for short tourist visits; only longer stays, work, study, or non-ordinary travel purposes would require a Cuban visa.
