🇷🇺俄罗斯(Russian Federation)🇦🇹奥地利(Austria)RU-AT 俄罗斯(Russian Federation) 前往 奥地利(Austria) 签证要求
Russian ordinary passport holders MUST obtain a Schengen Type C short-stay visa before traveling to Austria. There is no visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or ETIAS option for Russian citizens. Austria is a member of the Schengen Area, and Russia is on the EU's Schengen visa-required list (Annex I). A Russian ordinary passport holder cannot enter Austria without a Schengen Type C short-stay visa, which must be obtained in advance from an Austrian consulate or authorized visa application center (VFS Global) in Russia. The Schengen short-stay visa permits a maximum of 90 days of travel within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area, including for tourism. Because the EU suspended its 2007 Visa Facilitation Agreement with Russia (effective 12 September 2022), Russian applicants pay the full €90 visa fee, must supply additional supporting documents, and face longer processing and stricter scrutiny. From 7 November 2025 the European Commission further tightened the rules: Russian nationals are now generally issued single-entry visas only and must reapply for each trip, with multiple-entry visas reserved for narrow exceptions. ETIAS does NOT apply to Russian citizens, as ETIAS is exclusively for visa-exempt nationalities; Russians require a full visa instead. Travelers should apply 3-6 weeks ahead, book a mandatory appointment, and carry proof of accommodation, return travel, financial means (around €100/day), and travel health insurance with at least €30,000 coverage.
