Polish ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Uruguay for tourism. You may enter visa-free and stay up to 90 days, extendable once for a further 90 days. Uruguay grants visa-free entry to citizens of all European Union member states, including Poland, for tourism and short business visits. The bilateral visa-waiver arrangement covering Poland has been in effect since 2 September 1991. A Polish ordinary passport holder may enter Uruguay without any prior visa or electronic authorization and stay for up to 90 days, which the Dirección Nacional de Migración (National Directorate of Migration) can extend once for an additional 90 days, for a maximum of 180 days. Uruguay is in South America and is NOT part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entering Uruguay (ETIAS would only concern Uruguayans entering Europe, expected late 2026). At the border, travelers should carry a passport valid for the duration of stay (six months' validity is commonly advised), proof of onward or return travel, and evidence of sufficient funds and accommodation. There is no visa fee for this category of traveler. No recent (2024-2026) change alters Uruguay's visa-free treatment of EU/Polish citizens.
