Polish citizens do not need a visa to visit Slovenia. Both countries are EU and Schengen members, so Poles travel under EU freedom of movement using just a valid national ID card or passport, with no time limit on tourist stays. A Poland ordinary passport holder needs no visa, no eVisa, and no ETIAS to travel to Slovenia for tourism or any short visit. Both Poland and Slovenia are members of the European Union and the Schengen Area, so Polish nationals enjoy the EU right of free movement. Entry is granted on presentation of a valid Polish national identity card (dowod osobisty) or a valid passport — a passport is not even mandatory. Because both states are inside Schengen, there are normally no systematic border checks on internal land, air, or sea crossings. The Schengen 90/180-day short-stay rule and the ETIAS travel authorisation apply only to non-EU (third-country) nationals, not to EU citizens; a Polish citizen may therefore stay in Slovenia indefinitely. Under Slovenian law, EU citizens may reside without any registration for the first three months; only a stay beyond three months requires registering for a residence certificate at the local administrative unit (upravna enota). The Entry/Exit System (EES), operational since April 2026, and ETIAS (expected late 2026) target visa-exempt third-country nationals and do not affect EU citizens such as Poles. There is no fee for tourist entry.
