No visa. Poland and Sweden are both EU member states, so Polish citizens travel to Sweden under EU freedom of movement — entering with just a valid Polish national ID card or passport, with no time limit and no ETIAS requirement. A Polish ordinary passport holder does not need a visa to visit Sweden. Both countries are members of the European Union and the Schengen Area, so Polish citizens enjoy the EU right to free movement: the right to travel, live, work and study in Sweden. Entry is permitted with either a valid Polish passport or a valid Polish national ID card — no visa, registration or pre-travel authorization is required for a tourist or short visit. The Schengen 90/180-day short-stay rule that applies to third-country (non-EU) nationals does NOT limit Polish citizens; as EU citizens they may stay in Sweden beyond 90 days, though stays longer than three months trigger a simple EU right-of-residence (no longer a registration obligation since 2014). ETIAS, the EU travel authorization expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026, applies only to visa-exempt non-EU nationals — EU citizens such as Poles are explicitly exempt and will never need it. In short, for any tourist or short visit there is nothing to apply for, no fee, and no processing time: simply carry a valid travel document.
