No visa. Polish citizens have full EU freedom-of-movement rights and can travel to Hungary with just a valid national ID card or passport. Poland and Hungary are both members of the European Union and the Schengen Area. As an EU citizen, a Polish ordinary passport holder enjoys the right of free movement and needs no visa, no ETIAS, and no prior authorization to enter Hungary for tourism or any short visit. Travel is permitted on either a valid Polish national identity card or a valid passport; there is no minimum passport validity requirement for EU citizens beyond the document being valid. There are normally no systematic checks at the internal Schengen border between Poland and Hungary, though Hungary may reintroduce temporary border controls in exceptional circumstances and you should always carry valid ID. The Schengen 90/180 short-stay rule and ETIAS apply only to non-EU (third-country) nationals and therefore do NOT restrict Polish citizens: an EU national may stay in Hungary indefinitely. For stays longer than three months, an EU citizen simply registers their residence with the local Hungarian authorities (registration certificate) rather than applying for any visa or permit.
