As an EU member-state nationality, the Netherlands is on Vanuatu's visa-exempt list, and travelers receive a free tourist visa (entry permit) on arrival at Port Vila (Bauerfield) or Santo for short visits. The headline maximum stay for EU nationals is 120 days, granted for tourism, family visits, or business meetings/conferences only — no employment or commercial activity is permitted. Note: some travelers report an initial stamp shorter than 120 days, which can be extended up to the 120-day maximum at the Department of Immigration in Port Vila; the 120-day cap cannot be exceeded and there is no formal extension beyond it. Conditions for visa-free entry: a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay with a blank page, a confirmed return or onward ticket, and proof of sufficient funds. Important context: the EU's December 2024 decision ending Vanuatu's visa waiver concerns VANUATU citizens traveling TO the EU/Schengen — it does NOT affect Dutch citizens traveling to Vanuatu, who remain visa-exempt.
