Dutch ordinary passport holders enjoy visa-free entry to Uzbekistan for stays of up to 30 days, under a unilateral visa-exemption that Uzbekistan extended to all European Union member states on 1 February 2019. No visa, e-visa, or visa-on-arrival is required for short tourist trips within this window. Travelers simply present a passport valid for at least the duration of stay (six months recommended) at any air or land border. There is no entry fee. Visitors must be registered with the authorities within three days of arrival; hotels and licensed accommodation handle this automatically at check-in and issue registration slips, which should be kept for the duration of the trip and shown on departure. Those staying in private homes must register themselves at the local migration office. A cash declaration may be required on arrival if carrying large amounts of currency. For stays longer than 30 days, or for non-tourist purposes, a visa is required and Uzbekistan operates a convenient online e-visa portal (e-visa.gov.uz) issuing 30-day single-entry visas for around US$20. Uzbekistan is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route. The visa-free policy has been stable since 2019 and was further expanded in January 2026 (adding US citizens), reflecting Uzbekistan's continued liberalization of tourist entry.
