No visa required. Netherlands passport holders receive a free visitor permit on arrival for tourism, valid for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. Dutch (Netherlands) ordinary passport holders do not need a visa for a short tourist visit to the Solomon Islands. Under the mutual EU–Solomon Islands visa-waiver agreement that took effect on 8 October 2016, all EU/Schengen citizens (except Ireland, which has separate Commonwealth-based access) may enter visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. In practice, a free visitor permit is stamped into the passport on arrival at Honiara (Henderson) International Airport. There is no advance application, no eVisa, and no fee for the standard tourist entry. Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended departure date with blank pages, a confirmed return or onward ticket, and evidence of sufficient funds for the stay. The Solomon Islands is not part of the Schengen Area, so ETIAS and the Schengen 90/180 rule do not apply to this destination (ETIAS would only be relevant if transiting through Europe, which does not affect Dutch nationals). Visitor permits are for tourism/short visits only; work, business beyond a permitted scope, or stays longer than 3 months require an appropriate visa or permit obtained in advance from the Immigration Division.
