Netherlands passport holders need a visa for Kuwait. The recommended route is an online eVisa via the official MOI platform, issued in about 2 business days; a visa on arrival is also available to EU/Schengen citizens arriving by air. Dutch ordinary passport holders cannot enter Kuwait visa-free. As an EU/Schengen nationality, the Netherlands is on Kuwait's list of eVisa-eligible countries, so the cleanest option is to apply online for a tourist eVisa through the official Ministry of Interior portal (kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw) before departure. The eVisa is normally issued within about two business days (occasionally up to two weeks) and is emailed to the traveller. As an alternative, EU/Schengen citizens arriving by air may obtain a visa on arrival at Kuwait International Airport, but the eVisa is recommended because it removes airport-counter uncertainty and is required by many airlines as proof of onward eligibility. The visa permits a tourist stay of up to 90 days; the passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Important: Kuwait refuses entry to passports showing evidence of travel to Israel. The fee is modest (around KWD 3 for the standard single-entry tourist eVisa, plus any service/card charges). Carry a printed copy of the eVisa approval, a confirmed return ticket, and proof of accommodation.
