Netherlands passport holders need an eVisa to visit Equatorial Guinea. The Netherlands is not on Equatorial Guinea's short visa-exempt list, so you must apply online before you travel and arrive through Malabo International Airport. Equatorial Guinea launched its electronic visa (eVisa) system on 1 July 2023, administered through the official government portal operated by VFS Global (egonline.vfsevisa.com). Dutch ordinary passport holders are not visa-exempt — only a very small list of countries (such as the UAE, Turkey, Tunisia and Barbados) plus CEMAC neighbours enter without a visa. All other travellers, including EU/Netherlands citizens, must obtain an eVisa before arrival. The tourist eVisa is a single-entry permit costing US$75, with approvals typically returned within 24-72 hours after payment (allow up to 10 business days to be safe). Applicants must hold a passport valid at least 6 months, upload a passport photo and bio-page scan, and provide proof of accommodation, onward/return travel, medical insurance and (where applicable) a yellow fever vaccination certificate.
