Malaysian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Zambia. Malaysia is on Zambia's official visa-exempt list, granting up to 90 days of stay within any 12-month period, free of charge. As of June 2026, holders of an ordinary Malaysian passport are visa-exempt for entry to Zambia for tourism and short visits. Malaysia appears on the Zambia Department of Immigration's official list of nationals who do not require a visa (entry #91), a status that predates Zambia's January 2025 expansion that added 53 more countries. Visa-exempt visitors receive a free visit of up to ninety (90) days within any rolling twelve (12) month period from the first date of entry, though the full 90 days may be granted incrementally with free extensions available at immigration offices. No advance application, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival fee is required for ordinary travel. Travelers should still meet standard entry conditions: a passport valid for at least six months beyond entry with at least three blank pages, a valid return or onward air ticket (for air arrivals), and proof of sufficient funds. Note: travelers planning a combined Zambia-Zimbabwe trip around Victoria Falls may optionally use the KAZA UniVisa (USD 50) for multi-entry convenience, but this is not required for Malaysians given the existing visa exemption.
