🇲🇾马来西亚(Malaysia)🇸🇴索马里(Somalia)MY-SO 马来西亚(Malaysia) 前往 索马里(Somalia) 签证要求
Malaysian passport holders need an approved electronic visa (eVisa/eTAS) before traveling to Somalia. Apply online at the official ICA portal, secure a licensed sponsor's invitation letter, pay roughly USD 60-65, and carry the approval on arrival. Although Somalia historically listed Malaysia as visa-exempt for stays up to 30 days, that exemption has effectively been superseded by Somalia's mandatory electronic travel authorization. On 28 August 2025 the Federal Government of Somalia launched its eVisa/eTAS system, which became mandatory for all foreign visitors from 1 September 2025. Every foreign traveler, including minors and previously visa-exempt nationals, must obtain an approved electronic authorization online before departure, and routine visa-on-arrival has ended at federal airports such as Mogadishu. For a Malaysian ordinary passport holder visiting for tourism, the practical requirement is therefore a pre-approved eVisa: complete the online application, attach a licensed sponsor or tour-agency invitation letter, pay the fee (approximately USD 60-65), and wait 3-7 working days for approval. The single-entry tourist eVisa permits a stay of up to 30 days and is valid for 90 days from issue. A passport valid at least six months and proof of onward travel are required. Note: Somaliland (the self-declared region) maintains its own separate visa rules and is not covered by the federal eTAS. Given the conflict between the legacy visa-exemption and the now-mandatory eTAS, the conservative and accurate verdict for a real traveler is eVisa.
