Malaysian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist visits to Panama. They may enter visa-free and stay up to 90 days. Malaysia is on Panama's visa-exempt list, so a Malaysian ordinary passport holder can travel to Panama for tourism without any prior visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival. Entry is granted on arrival for a stay of up to 90 days. Panama is not part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. At the border, immigration officers may ask to see a passport valid for at least 3 months, a confirmed return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and evidence of economic solvency (around US$500, e.g. cash, a credit card or bank statement). Yellow fever vaccination is no longer mandatory to enter but is recommended if arriving from a risk country (such as Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador or parts of Africa). The 90-day visa-free entry is for tourism/short visits only; work, study or long-term residence require the appropriate visa or permit applied for separately.
