🇲🇾马来西亚(Malaysia)🇱🇰斯里兰卡(Sri Lanka)MY-LK 马来西亚(Malaysia) 前往 斯里兰卡(Sri Lanka) 签证要求
Malaysian ordinary passport holders need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) before traveling to Sri Lanka, but as of 25 May 2026 the tourist ETA is free of charge for Malaysians, granting a 30-day, double-entry stay. A Malaysia ordinary passport holder cannot simply turn up at a Sri Lankan airport without prior authorization. Sri Lanka requires every foreign tourist to hold an approved Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before boarding. The important 2026 change is that, effective 25 May 2026, Sri Lanka added Malaysia to a list of 40 countries whose nationals receive the tourist ETA free of charge. This means the application step and online registration are still mandatory, but the standard tourist visa fee (historically around USD 50 for most nationalities) is waived for Malaysians. The free ETA grants a stay of up to 30 days with a double-entry facility, letting the traveler exit and re-enter Sri Lanka within the 30-day window measured from first arrival. The application is filed online at the official portal eta.gov.lk, is normally approved within 24-72 hours, and applies to holders of Diplomatic, Official, Service, and Ordinary Malaysian passports. Travelers should carry a passport valid at least six months, proof of onward/return travel, accommodation details, and evidence of sufficient funds. Anyone wishing to stay beyond 30 days must apply for a paid extension from inside Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is not part of the Schengen area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here.
