🇲🇾马来西亚(Malaysia)🇨🇷哥斯达黎加(Costa Rica)MY-CR 马来西亚(Malaysia) 前往 哥斯达黎加(Costa Rica) 签证要求
Malaysian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Costa Rica. Malaysia is a Group 2 visa-exempt nationality, granted up to 30 days on arrival, extendable to a maximum total of 90 days. Costa Rica classifies foreign nationals into four entry groups. Malaysia sits in Group 2, which means Malaysian ordinary passport holders may enter visa-free for tourism. Immigration officers typically grant up to 30 days on arrival, and a one-time extension can be requested in-country to reach a maximum total stay of 90 days within the same trip. No visa, eVisa or pre-travel authorization is required for this stay length. A November 2025 update by Costa Rica's Direccion General de Migracion y Extranjeria refined the four-group framework but kept Malaysia in Group 2 with the same 30-day-on-arrival rule. At entry, travelers must show a passport valid for at least the duration of stay (most sources advise at least 3 months / 90 days of validity), proof of onward or return travel out of Costa Rica, and evidence of sufficient funds. Costa Rica is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Because the granted period at the border is discretionary and can be shorter than 30 days, travelers should carry strong supporting documents to avoid a reduced stamp or refusal.
