The passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival. There is no visa-on-arrival no-cost channel and no visa waiver for Mexico, so the ETA must be obtained online in advance through the official Department of Immigration and Emigration portal (eta.gov.lk). Travelers should avoid third-party sites that charge inflated service fees. The ETA can be extended in-country at the Department of Immigration if a longer stay is needed.
