South Korean ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Uruguay. You may enter visa-free and stay up to 90 days, extendable once for a further 90 days. Uruguay grants visa-free entry to holders of ordinary South Korean passports for tourism and short visits, under a bilateral visa-waiver arrangement in force since 10 January 2013. Korean tourists may stay up to 90 days per entry, and the stay can be extended once for an additional 90 days through the National Immigration Office (Dirección Nacional de Migración). Uruguay is in South America, NOT the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 rules and ETIAS do not apply. There is no eVisa, e-ETA, or visa-on-arrival scheme for tourism. At the border, travelers should hold a passport valid for the duration of stay, with at least one blank page for the entry stamp, and may be asked to show proof of onward/return travel and sufficient funds. There is no entry visa fee; the only routine cost is a departure/boarding tax that is normally already bundled into international airfare. No 2024-2026 changes affect this verdict.
