South Korean ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Chad. Since 11 May 2026, the only way to obtain a tourist visa is the mandatory electronic visa (eVisa), applied for online before travel via the official portal evisa.td. There is no visa-free entry and no longer a regular embassy sticker visa for ordinary travel. Chad is not a Schengen country and South Korea is not on Chad's visa-exempt list, so a visa is required. Chad launched its electronic visa system on 11 December 2024, and as of 11 May 2026 the eVisa became the mandatory and exclusive channel for new visa applications, submitted only through the official government portal evisa.td. The standard tourist eVisa is single-entry, allowing a stay of up to 30 days and valid for 30 days from issue, with a government fee of roughly USD 100-107 plus card/processing charges. Processing typically takes around 10 business days, so travelers should apply well ahead. On arrival, all foreign nationals must complete mandatory police registration within 72 hours, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry. Travelers should apply only through evisa.td to avoid third-party markups, and ensure their passport is valid for at least six months with blank pages.
