South Korean ordinary passport holders need an electronic visa (e-Visa) to visit Cuba for tourism. Since 1 January 2026 the old paper tourist card (tarjeta del turista) has been fully retired and the e-Visa is the sole entry authorization. A South Korea (KR) ordinary passport holder traveling to Cuba (CU) for tourism requires a Cuban e-Visa. Cuba launched its electronic visa system in August 2024 to run alongside the physical tourist card; the card was accepted through 31 December 2025 and from 1 January 2026 the e-Visa replaced it completely. South Korea is not on Cuba's visa-exemption list, so Korean tourists fall into the standard e-Visa category. The e-Visa is single-entry and permits a stay of up to 90 days, extendable once for a further 90 days at a local immigration office in Cuba. The fee is approximately EUR 22 for applicants in most of the world (the exact amount is set by the issuing Cuban consulate; some markets quote local-currency equivalents such as USD 50). The application is filed online via the official portal (evisacuba.cu), but payment is generally settled through the relevant Cuban consulate/embassy rather than instantly online, so processing realistically takes a few business days. Separately, every traveler must complete the free online D'Viajeros advance traveler form within 72 hours before arrival, and Cuban authorities require valid travel medical insurance covering the stay (random checks occur on arrival). The passport should be valid for at least six months. Because Cuba is in the Caribbean and not part of the Schengen area, the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Conservatively, the verdict is e-Visa: there is no confirmed visa-free or visa-on-arrival channel for Korean ordinary passport holders.
