🇯🇵日本(Japan)🇳🇵尼泊尔(Nepal)JP-NP 日本(Japan) 前往 尼泊尔(Nepal) 签证要求
Japanese ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa in advance for tourism in Nepal. Nepal grants a tourist visa on arrival (VOA) to Japanese citizens at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu), other airports, and major land borders. Choose 15, 30, or 90 days and pay the fee in cash (USD preferred) on arrival. Nepal operates a near-universal visa-on-arrival system, and Japan is not on the short list of nationalities excluded from it (such as Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, and a few others). A Japanese ordinary passport holder traveling for tourism therefore obtains a tourist visa on arrival without any prior application. Tourist VOA is offered in three durations: 15 days (USD 30), 30 days (USD 50), and 90 days (USD 125), all multiple-entry. Travelers may stay a cumulative maximum of 150 days per calendar year on tourist visas, with extensions available at the Department of Immigration (minimum 15-day extension at USD 45, then USD 3/day). The visa is processed at the immigration counter on arrival: fill in the application form (or use the online pre-fill / kiosk at Kathmandu airport), present a passport valid at least six months, provide a passport photo, and pay the fee in cash. USD is the most reliable currency; other major currencies (NPR, GBP, EUR) are usually accepted but exact change in USD avoids problems. One travel blog described Japanese entry as "visa-free 90 days," but this conflicts with Nepal's official policy: entry is visa-on-arrival, not a visa exemption, and the fee applies. Note that VOA is for tourism/short stays only; paid work, volunteering, or business is not permitted on this entry.
