🇯🇵日本(Japan)🇳🇮尼加拉瓜(Nicaragua)JP-NI 日本(Japan) 前往 尼加拉瓜(Nicaragua) 签证要求
Japanese ordinary passport holders can enter Nicaragua visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days. Japan is confirmed in Category A (visa-exempt) under the new Disposición N° 002-2026, effective 16 February 2026. A US$10 tourist card is purchased on arrival, and the passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Nicaragua maintains visa-free entry for Japanese ordinary passport holders for short tourist visits of up to 90 days. This status was confirmed under Disposición N° 002-2026, a major overhaul of Nicaragua's migration categories issued by the Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería and effective 16 February 2026. That reform moved more than 120 nationalities (mostly from Africa, Asia and the Caribbean) into Category C (consulted/advance visa) and largely eliminated the old visa-on-arrival system, but Japan was explicitly retained in Category A alongside the United States, Canada, the EU, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Australia. There is no eVisa, ETA or pre-departure visa requirement for Japanese tourists. On arrival, all visa-exempt travelers must purchase a tourist card costing US$10 and must hold a passport valid for at least six months, proof of onward/return travel, and evidence of sufficient funds. The permitted stay is up to 90 days and may be extended once for an additional 30 days at a Migración office for a fee. Because Nicaragua's policy was substantially revised in early 2026 and is sensitive to diplomatic/reciprocity considerations, travelers should reconfirm with the Nicaraguan immigration authority or an embassy shortly before departure. Nicaragua is in Central America and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
