🇯🇵日本(Japan)🇭🇺匈牙利(Hungary)JP-HU 日本(Japan) 前往 匈牙利(Hungary) 签证要求
Japanese ordinary passport holders can travel to Hungary visa-free for tourism, staying up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. No visa is required as of 2026-05-30. ETIAS travel authorization is not yet mandatory (planned for late 2026). Hungary is a member of the Schengen Area, and Japan is on the EU's visa-exempt list for short stays. A Japanese ordinary passport holder may enter Hungary for tourism or short visits without a visa for up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. This 90/180 limit is cumulative across all Schengen countries combined, not per country. The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years and remain valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure date from the Schengen Area. As of 2026-05-30, no electronic travel authorization is required. The EU's ETIAS (a visa-waiver pre-authorization, similar to the US ESTA) is scheduled to become mandatory for visa-exempt nationals including Japanese citizens in the last quarter of 2026; until it formally enters force, Japanese travelers continue to enter without it. Separately, the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), which began a phased rollout on 12 October 2025 and reaches full operation on 10 April 2026, registers biometric data (facial image and fingerprints) at the external border on entry and exit, replacing passport stamping. Travelers should still carry proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds, as border officers may request them.
