Italy is not on any Jordanian visa-exemption list, but Italian citizens are eligible for a visa on arrival, which is issued directly at airports (including Queen Alia International) and most land border crossings. The standard single-entry visa-on-arrival costs 40 JOD and is valid for a stay of one month. Travelers may alternatively secure an eVisa in advance through Jordan's Ministry of Interior eServices portal (process at least 3 business days before travel). The most cost-effective and popular route for tourists is the Jordan Pass, purchased online before arrival: it includes the cost of the tourist entry visa and grants admission to over 40 attractions including Petra, Jerash and Wadi Rum. The Jordan Pass visa waiver is conditional on staying a minimum of 3 nights in Jordan; otherwise the standard visa fee is charged. A passport with at least 6 months validity and clear pages is required at entry.
