意大利(Italy) 前往 瑞士(Switzerland) 签证要求

No visa is required. Italian citizens are EU nationals and Switzerland is a Schengen and EFTA state bound by the EU-Swiss Free Movement of Persons agreement, so Italians enter freely for tourism with just a valid passport or national ID card. An Italian ordinary passport holder does NOT need a visa to visit Switzerland for tourism or any short stay. Italy is a member of the European Union, and Switzerland — although not an EU member — is part of the Schengen Area and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), and is bound by the EU-Switzerland Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons. This means Italian citizens enjoy full freedom of movement: they may enter, travel, and stay in Switzerland visa-free simply by presenting a valid Italian passport or national identity card. There is no Schengen visa, no fee, and no online travel authorisation to obtain in advance. ETIAS, the upcoming European Travel Information and Authorisation System, applies only to visa-exempt NON-EU nationals and therefore does NOT apply to Italian (EU) citizens travelling to Switzerland — Italians will never need ETIAS for any Schengen country. While the Schengen 90-days-in-180 short-stay rule is the standard yardstick for visitors, EU citizens like Italians are not subject to it as ordinary tourists; the 90-day point simply marks the threshold beyond which a stay is treated as residence (requiring registration/a residence permit) rather than tourism. For trips under 90 days for tourism, business, family visits or study, an Italian needs no paperwork beyond a valid travel document. Travellers should ensure their Italian ID card or passport is valid and machine-readable; note that under the updated Swiss-EU agreement, Italian ID cards lacking a functional MRZ or minimum security standards may not be accepted from August 2026, so a valid biometric passport or compliant ID card is recommended.
