Italian passport holders can get a Visa on Arrival (VOA) at Dhaka airport for a 30-day tourist stay for USD 51, provided they show a return ticket. A pre-arrival sticker visa via VFS Global is the safer alternative. Italy (ordinary passport) is NOT visa-free for Bangladesh, but Italian nationals are eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA) granted at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka (and other designated ports). The Embassy of Italy in Dhaka and Bangladesh's visa policy confirm that Italian citizens visiting for tourism or business up to 30 days may request a single-entry VOA for USD 51 (or EUR 51), payable in cash only, on showing a confirmed return/onward ticket and proof of accommodation. The VOA is single-entry, valid for a 30-day stay, and can be extended once for a further 30 days at the Department of Immigration and Passports in Dhaka. Crucially, issuance is at the sole discretion of the immigration officer at the port of entry, so travelers who want certainty should instead apply for a sticker visa in advance through VFS Global / a Bangladesh mission, or via the online MRV portal where available. Passport must be valid at least 6 months. Bangladesh is in South Asia and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
