Indian ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Israel. Since July 2025, the easiest route is the eVisa-B2, a fully online tourist visa for Indian passport holders living in India. There is no visa-free or visa-on-arrival option. Israel does not grant visa-free entry to Indian ordinary passport holders, and there is no visa-on-arrival. India is not a Schengen matter (Israel is not in the Schengen area), so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here. Following a pilot launched in 2024 and a full rollout from July 2025, Indian (and Sri Lankan) passport holders resident in India can apply for the eVisa-B2 entirely online through Israel's Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) portal, without visiting the embassy or a visa center. The eVisa-B2 covers tourism, family visits, short business trips, non-academic study, and medical treatment. The official fee is 100 NIS, paid online, with approval typically issued by email within about 10 business days. The visa generally permits a stay of up to 90 days. Indians who prefer the traditional path, or who do not qualify for the eVisa, can still apply for the conventional B/2 sticker visa through the embassy/VFS-style channels. Travelers should carry the printed approval, ensure a passport valid at least six months, and hold travel medical insurance and proof of onward travel and funds. Because accuracy is critical and the eVisa is a discretionary tourist visa, applicants should apply well ahead of travel and keep documentation ready for entry checks at the border.
