Israeli ordinary passport holders can travel to Greece visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. No visa or ETIAS is required as of June 2026. Greece is a member of the Schengen Area, and Israel is on the EU's visa-exempt (Annex II) list. Israeli ordinary passport holders may enter Greece and the wider Schengen zone for tourism, business, or transit without a visa for short stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. There is no fee and no advance application currently required. Two EU border modernizations affect this route: the Entry/Exit System (EES), which began phased rollout on 12 October 2025 and reaches full operation on 10 April 2026, replaces passport stamps with biometric registration (facial image and fingerprints) at the border at no cost to the traveler. The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026; once live, Israeli travelers will need to obtain an ETIAS authorization (around EUR 20 for adults 18-70, free for under-18 and over-70) before departure. ETIAS is a pre-travel authorization, not a visa, and does not change the 90/180 visa-free rule. As of the verification date, ETIAS is NOT yet required, so Israelis still travel fully visa-free. Travelers should carry a passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date and issued within the last 10 years, plus proof of accommodation, return/onward ticket, and sufficient funds.
