Israeli ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Chile. They may enter visa-free and stay up to 90 days, extendable once, with no application or fee required before arrival. Chile grants visa-free entry to holders of ordinary Israeli passports for tourism, family visits, and business meetings. The permitted stay is up to 90 days, and this can typically be extended once for another 90 days. Chile is NOT part of the Schengen area, so no Schengen 90/180 rule, ETIAS, or eVisa applies. At the border the traveler completes the standard immigration formalities and receives a Tarjeta Unica Migratoria (digital entry record); the old paper Tarjeta de Turismo has been replaced by an electronic system. Requirements at entry are a passport valid for the duration of stay (six months recommended), proof of onward or return travel, and evidence of sufficient funds and accommodation. Visa-free status does not authorize paid employment. The exemption has been stable and there is no reciprocity fee for Israeli citizens (Chile abolished its reciprocity fee program for all nationalities in 2014). Travelers should always confirm with the Chilean consulate or IATA Travel Centre shortly before departure, as policies can change.
