Two non-negotiable entry conditions remain: a passport valid at least six months beyond arrival with two blank pages, and a valid International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow fever), which must have been administered at least 10 days before arrival. Travelers should also be aware that the CAR carries severe security travel advisories from most foreign ministries due to ongoing instability, and that overland borders and provincial areas may be dangerous regardless of visa status. The visa-free channel applies to short tourist/business visits; long stays, work, or residence require a proper visa from a CAR diplomatic mission.
