Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Lebanon. Indonesia is NOT eligible for Lebanon's visa-on-arrival, and additionally requires prior approval from the Lebanese Directorate General of General Security before the visa is issued. Apply through the Lebanese Embassy in Jakarta before travel. A visa is required for Indonesian citizens traveling to Lebanon for tourism. While many nationalities (e.g. US, EU, GCC, Turkey) receive a free visa on arrival at Beirut airport, Indonesia is specifically excluded: Lebanon's General Security lists Indonesia among the countries that require prior authorization ("pre-approval") from the Directorate General of General Security in addition to a visa. This means an Indonesian traveler cannot simply land in Beirut and get stamped in. The correct process is to apply at the Embassy of Lebanon in Jakarta, where the embassy coordinates the mandatory General Security security clearance before issuing the tourist visa. Lebanon is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. A critical, non-negotiable condition: any Israeli stamp, visa, or seal in the passport (used or unused) results in refusal of entry. Plan for a multi-week lead time because the General Security approval is processed in Beirut and is outside the embassy's direct control.
