Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit GH?
Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Ghana. As of May 2026, Ghana operates an official online eVisa portal (evisa.immigration.gov.gh) for tourists, which is the recommended route; an embassy/consulate sticker visa remains available as an alternative. Ghana's 2025-2026 visa-free policy applies only to African Union passport holders, so Indonesians are not exempt. Ghana is not a visa-free or visa-on-arrival destination for ordinary Indonesian passport holders. Travelers must obtain a visa before arrival. The most current option is the official Ghana eVisa, launched via the Ghana Immigration Service / Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal on 25 May 2026, which lets applicants apply online for a tourist, business, student, or transit visa and receive an approval by email to present (printed or digital) at the port of entry. A traditional embassy/consulate sticker visa is still issued by Ghana's diplomatic missions. The single-entry tourist visa normally allows a stay of up to 30 days within a validity window of about 3 months. Ghana's high-profile 2025 announcement and the 25 May 2026 launch removed visa fees for holders of African Union passports only; Indonesian nationals are NOT covered and continue to pay the standard fee. Passports should be valid at least 6 months beyond intended stay, with proof of onward/return travel and accommodation. Because fee figures and eligibility can change, applicants should confirm directly on the official portal or with the nearest Ghana mission before paying.

For guidance only — visa rules change with little notice. Always confirm directly with the destination's embassy or foreign ministry before booking non-refundable travel. Information here applies to ordinary (non-diplomatic) passports unless noted.
