Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit EE?
Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Estonia for tourism. Indonesia is not on the EU visa-exempt list, so ETIAS does not apply. Apply before you travel through the Embassy of Finland, which represents Estonia in Indonesia, via VFS Global in Jakarta. Estonia is a full member of the Schengen Area, and Indonesia is NOT among the roughly 60 countries with visa-free access to Schengen. Therefore an Indonesian ordinary passport holder must obtain a Schengen short-stay (Type C / uniform) visa before traveling to Estonia for tourism. The visa permits a maximum stay of 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. Because Estonia has no embassy in Indonesia, it is represented for visa issuance by Finland; applications are lodged in Jakarta through VFS Global on behalf of the Finnish Embassy. The standard adult visa fee is EUR 90 (raised from EUR 80 in June 2024), plus a VFS service fee. Standard processing is 15 calendar days, extendable to 45 in some cases, and applications can be lodged up to 6 months before travel (15 days minimum recommended). A notable recent change: on 23 July 2025 the EU adopted a more favourable "visa cascade" regime for Indonesia, under which applicants who have lawfully used a prior Schengen visa can receive multi-entry visas valid up to 5 years. ETIAS (expected to launch in Q4 2026) applies only to visa-exempt nationals and does NOT cover Indonesians, who continue to need a full Schengen visa.
