Indonesian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Ecuador for tourism. You receive a free 90-day tourist entry permit (T-3) on arrival. Indonesia is not on Ecuador's list of nationalities that require a pre-arrival visa, so Indonesian ordinary passport holders enter visa-free for tourism. Immigration officers grant a free 90-day tourist permit (known as the T-3 permit) automatically at the port of entry. Critically, the 90 days are counted within a rolling 365-day "chronological year" that begins on your first entry — leaving and re-entering does NOT reset the clock; the days are cumulative. You may extend once per chronological year for an additional 90 days (paid, roughly USD 150). Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay, and officers can ask for proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. Ecuador uses the US dollar, so all in-country fees are quoted in USD. Note that visiting the Galapagos Islands requires a separate Transit Control Card and an entrance fee paid on top of the visa-free mainland entry. No eVisa, ETA, or registration is required before travel for a standard mainland tourist visit.
