Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a visa to visit Cyprus for tourism. Apply for a Cyprus national short-stay (type C) visa at a Cyprus embassy/consulate before travel, OR enter on a valid multiple/double-entry Schengen visa, which Cyprus accepts as equivalent to a national entry visa. As of mid-2026, Cyprus is an EU member but is NOT yet part of the Schengen Area (accession is still pending, with a decisive EU Council vote anticipated by December 2026). Indonesia is not on Cyprus's visa-exempt list and is not eligible for ETIAS, so an Indonesian ordinary passport holder must obtain a visa to enter Cyprus for tourism. There are two valid routes: (1) a Cyprus national short-stay (category C) visa, issued by a Cyprus diplomatic mission, which permits up to 90 days within a 180-day period but is valid only for Cyprus; or (2) entry on a valid double or multiple-entry Schengen visa (category C), which Cyprus treats as equivalent to a national entry visa. Because Cyprus is outside Schengen, the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) and ETIAS do not currently apply to Cyprus entries, and a Cyprus-issued visa does not allow onward visa-free travel into the Schengen zone. The standard short-stay visa fee is EUR 90 (reduced for children). Travelers should apply 2-4 weeks ahead and carry proof of onward travel, accommodation, funds and travel insurance.
