Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit CU?

Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a Cuba e-Visa for tourism. Since 1 July 2025 Cuba's mandatory electronic visa (eVisaCuba) has replaced the old paper tourist card. Apply online before departure at the official portal evisacuba.cu; it grants a single entry of up to 90 days, extendable once for another 90 days. Indonesia is not on Cuba's short list of visa-exempt nationalities, so an Indonesian citizen traveling for tourism must obtain a Cuban tourist visa. As of 1 July 2025 Cuba retired the traditional paper "tarjeta del turista" (tourist card) and made its electronic visa (eVisaCuba) the standard channel for nearly all visitors, including Indonesians. The e-Visa is a single-entry travel authorization linked electronically to the passport, valid for a stay of up to 90 days and extendable once inside Cuba for an additional 90 days (180 days maximum). Travelers apply online via the official Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal (evisacuba.cu); some Cuban consulates and authorized agencies still process payment where the portal's integrated payment is unavailable. Beyond the e-Visa, Cuba legally requires every visitor to hold travel insurance with medical coverage valid in Cuba (checked by airlines and immigration), a passport valid at least six months beyond arrival, a return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and proof of sufficient funds (commonly cited at around USD 50/day). All passengers must also complete the free online D'Viajeros advance information form within 48 hours of arrival and present its QR code on entry. Because requirements are evolving and consular practice varies, Indonesian travelers should confirm current fee and payment options with the Cuban embassy/consulate accredited to Indonesia or via the official portal before booking.
