Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit BT?
Indonesian ordinary passport holders need an e-Visa for Bhutan. You must apply online before travel, pay a US$40 visa fee plus the US$100 per night Sustainable Development Fee (SDF). Bhutan does not grant visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival to Indonesian citizens. Only Indian, Bangladeshi and Maldivian nationals receive special treatment; everyone else, including Indonesians, must obtain an e-Visa in advance. The application is made online through Bhutan's official immigration portal (immi.gov.bt) or via a licensed tour operator. Two charges apply: a one-time, non-refundable US$40 visa application fee, and the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of US$100 per person per night, which must be paid up front as part of the application. Children aged 6-12 pay 50% of the SDF and those 5 and under are exempt. Applications are typically reviewed within five working days; once approved, a visa clearance letter is issued and the visa is stamped on arrival at Paro airport or a designated land border. The e-Visa permits stays of up to 90 days. A passport valid for at least six months is required.
