Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit BI?
Indonesian passport holders need a visa to enter Burundi. The recommended route is the eVisa applied for online before travel via Burundi's official migration portal; a visa on arrival at the same price is also available, but applying online ahead of travel is strongly advised. Indonesia (ORDINARY passport) is not on Burundi's short visa-exempt list, so a visa is required for tourism. Burundi runs an official online (eVisa) system through the Commissariat Général des Migrations (migration.gov.bi). Indonesian travelers should complete the online application before departure, receive a validation certificate, and present it on arrival. The standard tourist option is a 1-month multiple-entry visa for USD 90 (USD 180 for 2 months, USD 270 for 3 months). A visa on arrival at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport (Bujumbura) and at land borders is also available for USD 90 for a maximum 1-month stay, but UK and US government guidance both recommend applying online ahead of travel. A passport valid at least 6 months with one blank page is required, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry. Burundi is in East Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
