Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit UA?
HKSAR ordinary passport holders can enter Ukraine visa-free for up to 14 days for tourism under a 2010 bilateral agreement. No visa, eVisa or ETA is needed. Ukraine is NOT in the Schengen Area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Holders of an ordinary Hong Kong SAR passport do not need a visa to visit Ukraine for short stays. Under the HK-Ukraine visa-free agreement signed on 4 September 2010 (in force from 3 November 2010), HKSAR passport holders may stay visa-free for up to 14 days per entry. Ukraine is a separate country outside the EU/Schengen zone, so Schengen 90/180 limits and ETIAS do not apply here. However, travel is heavily affected by the ongoing war and martial law: Ukrainian airspace remains closed to civilian flights, so entry is only possible via land borders (Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova) or by train/bus. Foreigners must carry a valid passport, proof of sufficient funds (about USD 60 per day), valid medical/travel insurance (mandatory), and be able to show the purpose of the trip. The Hong Kong Government and most foreign ministries advise against all travel to Ukraine due to the security situation. The visa channel itself is free, but real travelers should treat this as a high-risk destination and check advisories immediately before any trip.
