HK passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist visits to Trinidad and Tobago. Entry is granted on arrival for up to 90 days under a 1997 visa-exemption agreement, confirmed by both the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hong Kong Immigration Department. Holders of a Hong Kong SAR ordinary passport can travel to Trinidad and Tobago visa-free for tourism. The Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists "China - Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" as not requiring a visa for Business/Vacation, citing an agreement dated 24 March 1997 (Statutory Instrument SI 06/97) under which holders of these passports are exempt from visa requirements. The Hong Kong Immigration Department's visa-free access list correspondingly shows Trinidad and Tobago with a permitted stay of 90 days. No visa, eVisa, ETA or visa-on-arrival application is needed in advance. Trinidad and Tobago is a CARICOM Caribbean nation, not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers are admitted at the discretion of the immigration officer on arrival and should carry proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds. The actual length of stay granted is determined by the immigration officer and is typically up to 90 days; extensions are possible through the Immigration Division. As always, the passport should be valid for the duration of stay, and entry remains subject to individual assessment at the port of entry.
